Texas Drought Status


The National Drought Mitigation Center publishes drought monitor maps weekly. The U.S. Drought Monitor is produced through a partnership between the National Drought Mitigation Center at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the United States Department of Agriculture, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

The Texas Water Development Board monitors water conditions throughout the state. Reports are created monthly for selected reservoirs, streamflow sites, and groundwater wells. Click to view the current Texas Water Conditions Report.

Liberty’s drinking water is 100% groundwater. In addition to the water efficient tools, resources, and programs Liberty provides, Liberty closely monitors drought conditions, has system-specific drought preparedness plans in place, and follows a water use efficiency plan.
