Texas Drought Status

A drought is a period of unusually persistent dry weather that persists long enough to cause serious problems such as crop damage and/or water supply shortages. – National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

 

The National Drought Mitigation Center publishes drought monitor maps weekly. The U.S. Drought Monitor is produced through a partnership between the National Drought Mitigation Center at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the United States Department of Agriculture, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

The Texas Water Development Board monitors water conditions throughout the state. Reports are created monthly for selected reservoirs, streamflow sites, and groundwater wells. Click to view the current Texas Water Conditions Report.
